Sara Mahamdallie Physiotherapy

Welcome

I am passionate about supporting women at every life stage — appreciating how cyclical hormonal shifts, pregnancy, birth, perimenopause, and complex gynaecological, urological, colorectal and oncology conditions impact the whole body. This comprehensive perspective allows me to deliver evidence-based, individualised care that addresses root causes rather than isolated symptoms.

In 2024, I transitioned from the NHS to establish my own private clinics in Abergavenny and Michaelston-y-Fedw, creating welcoming spaces dedicated to specialist Women’s Health physiotherapy. I also practice as a Women’s Health Physiotherapist at Spire Hospital, Cardiff — Wales’ only BSGE Centre of Excellence for Endometriosis treatment — and at St Joseph’s Hospital, Newport, where I work within multidisciplinary teams to support women with complex pelvic conditions.

My practice is grounded in the belief that when we truly understand and support the female body as a whole, we empower women not just to recover — but to thrive.

I began my career within the NHS, where I developed broad clinical experience across Respiratory care, Acute Medicine, Post-operative Surgical Management, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Musculoskeletal Outpatients and Pelvic Health. Working across these specialties gave me a deep respect for the complexity and resilience of the human body — and a clear understanding that no system works in isolation.

This whole-body foundation has profoundly shaped my approach to Women’s Health. The female body is an interconnected system influenced by breathing mechanics, abdominal pressure regulation, hormonal changes, musculoskeletal alignment, nervous system responses and previous medical or surgical history. My background enables me to assess and treat beyond symptoms, recognising how factors such as thoracic mobility, core coordination, scar tissue, joint health, stress physiology and movement patterns all influence pelvic function.
